Calling All NEDians: Where Do We Live?

Posted by Sabahat (iFaqeer) on August 26, 2007

NEDians World Map
We use Sitemeter’s free service to track statistics on this blog. The map above shows the last 100 visitors to this blog in a 24 hour period and where they came from–as much as it is able to tell online. I find the graphic rather informative–and it seems to to be a pretty good representation of where NEDians live. But I could be wrong. It would be wonderful to hear from NEDians around the world and around Pakistan. Please drop a line in comments here and let everyone know where you are–especially if you’re in a place where there aren’t a lot of NEDians or if you think it’s a place the rest of us wouldn’t usually think of NEDians as living in. [That last includes you, Kashif Malik, in Multan.]

  3. Riaz Haq says:

This is very interesting but not surprising. The NEDian blog visitors are mostly in Pakistan, North America, Europe, the Middle East and Malaysia. I like the reach of the blog and would encourage bloggers to blog about the upcoming NEDians Convention in Silicon Valley on Sept 8, 2007. Blog on!!

  4. Good information, Sabahat.
At some point in future this blog would have to make itself a part of a wiki-universe where NEDians could congregate in special interest groups. For example, one special group I would be interested in interacting with would be of all the people attending NED during the years I was there. In a way it would be like resurrecting a virtual NED replica of my NED experience.
Another special interest group I want to be a part of–and perhaps this one is more doable than the previous idea–is of people interested in renewable energy and experimenting with new ideas and technologies.

Its a great site that brings nedians closer living all around the world. keep it up, I’m in Canada working in Oakville, Ontario

  8. Mohsin Syed says:

I assume the two biggest chunks of Nedians living in United States are in Silicon Valley (Electrical & Computer) and in Michigan (Mechanical). I did my BS in Mechanical and MS in Computer Engg. I am currently in Silicon Valley, but use to live in Detroit – MI.

We needed this site for a long time. Congrats to Sabahat for the dedicated and hard work. I am in “windy city” also known as Chicago. First NEDEA Alumni Association in North America was established here. NEDEA arranged annual cricket match last weekend, a family picnic was held this summer and looking forward to more educational and social events (100 plus members now). Best wishes to the class of 1978 Mechanical.

I did my BE in Computer Engineering in 92-93, currently in the Health Service in IT Project Management.
